The people behind the process.

Rick founded Vulpes in 2018 and has led it from first experiment to operating plant — putting together the team, the funding and the Lubbock site along the way. Before Vulpes he spent a decade building and running organizations in education, publishing and software, and he holds a Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.

Dan has spent four decades turning chemical research into production. He founded and ran a contract development and manufacturing business of four factories and two laboratories, holds professor rank as a researcher at Zhejiang University, and co-founded Vulpes to lead the process work behind its Carbon Black Acid and L-glufosinate technologies.

Greg spent nearly thirty years as co-owner of Shapiro Brothers, sold the business to PSC Metals, and stayed on as Vice President of Operations to integrate it — taking on production, environmental compliance and capital planning across the combined company. He is a chemical engineer with an Executive MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.

Mayank has developed roughly a hundred products across specialty chemicals, novel reagents and active pharmaceutical ingredients. As Vice President for research and technology transfer at Nicholas Piramal he moved a series of API processes into regular production — four decades of bench-to-plant work, in Belgium, India and now Lubbock, behind the processes he develops for Vulpes.
